It’s hard to believe April is already here. This is always an exciting time of year. The Reunion is just a few weeks away. It is a great place to catch up and visit with our old friends and meet a few new ones. Enrollment for camp is in full swing. Great to know so many campers are returning for another session at Unalayee. Many of last summer’s favorite counselors will be back for another season at camp. We are going to have another All-Star staff!
I hope to see all of you at the Reunion. If you can’t attend the Reunion then I hope to see you at camp this summer.

Our annual reunion and fundraiser is just three weeks away: April 30th and May 1st. The more friends one has at a reunion the more fun it is, so we are extending a special offer to members of our community to encourage them to bring their friends. If you bring a friend to the reunion who has never attended camp or been to a Unalayee event before, we’ll give you a free Unalayee T-shirt!
For more information on the reunion check out the event page on our website. If you can’t make it to this year’s reunion, we’ll be doing part of our silent auction on Facebook again like we did last year! To participate in the silent auction online click the Discussions tab on the left hand menu of our Facebook page. Then click on the item you wish to bid on and post your bid! For further directions see the Silent Auction Discussion Topic on Facebook. Also check out the Facebook Event for more information on this year’s reunion.
You may be a long time camper, but have you ever gone on trail? I know our base camp program is so much fun it’s hard to pull yourself away, but if you’ve never tried out Hiking or Wild Tribe, it’s an experience worth giving a chance. It might just change what you sign up for every summer.
Wild Tribe is an extended wilderness experience that focuses on natural history and wilderness skills. Wild Tribe members learn to identify wild foods, track and observe animals, build shelters and learn wilderness survival techniques. Wild Tribes focus on learning to do without the trappings of civilization. Participants might go without their watches or learn to make their own utensils and tools.
Get together with the Unalayee Family during every season!
Did you attend one of our events this winter? We had a play date in Santa Cruz; campers and counselors met in the park for a barbecue and games. It almost snowed, but all in all we had a great time! We also hosted a number of informational meetings where past campers and counselors helped answer questions and give information to prospective families.
If you missed these events, there are still many chances to attend a Unalayee gathering this spring. Besides the Spring Reunion, we are going to see a Warriors Game in April and we have many more Informational Meetings planned. To keep up-to-date on all the current Unalayee happenings, visit our Events Page.
