Our Campers Perform for Us

Have you been to our events page recently and noticed that our 5th Annual Fundraiser and Reunion is coming up at the end of April?  Visit the page to check out the line-up and mark the date on your calendar.

While you are there, you might notice the great musical line-up we have for this year’s event. And the coolest thing about our musicians? They were all Unalayee campers.

Dancing on Strings Mona, Kevin, LydiaFamily act “Dancing On Strings” is a classical trio consisting of sisters Mona and Lydia McDowell and their father, Kevin. Mona and Lydia were both campers from a young age who went on to graduate from our Counselor In Training (CIT) program and become Camp Staff. Father Kevin, along with the rest of the family, has been a Family Days attendee for years. To learn more about Dancing On Strings and listen to some of their music, visit their website.

The Trouble With Caring

Guitarist Dylan Flynn has been wowing us with his skills playing at campfire ever since he was young. A camper from age 10 who went on to become a CIT, he released his second Americana and Folk album, “The Trouble With Caring,” in early January. His first album, “Vestige Bloom,” was released in 2006.  Samples from both of his albums, as well as information about tour dates and more, are available on his myspace page.

Elliot Warren Evening Post

Elliot Warren, who plays bass guitar for Evening Post, is another Family Days camper whose musical skills do not disappoint.  Elliot and Evening Post will wrap up the entertainment during the silent auction with their Americana and Indie Rock tunes.  You can check out some samples of their music on their myspace page.

I hope to see all of you at our Fundraiser and Reunion at Camp Krem on April 30th.  We’ll listen to some great music together!
